The adventure trail "Wine and Stone" stretches over a distance of 6.9 kilometers (shortcuts are possible). Along this trail, there are 70 stops with numerous illustrated signs providing interesting information about viticulture, grape varieties, geology, climate, history, culture, flora and fauna of the region. In the middle of the UNESCO Geopark Bergstrasse-Odenwald, the trail provides many surprises. Along the paved circular route across five vineyards, many benches and marvellous panoramic views of five German wine growing regions invite walkers to pause and relax. Peach, almond and fig trees line the path.
Take your time when hiking with your children through our beautiful landscape of vineyards. The Bergsträßer Winzer eG – Bergstrasse cooperative wine-growers association provides, for your children, an entertaining question sheet concerning the topics of the trail.
Discover in an entertaining manner, via the "Vino-Cinema", characteristics and specialties of our viticulture. Through glass windows, have a glance at our geological prehistory. Meet sculptors who have set their emotions in stone! Look over the shoulders of the winegrowers. Have a look into the "kindergarden" of a vine or find out which techniques a winegrower applies, in harmony with nature, to produce delicious wines of superior quality.
Enjoy yourself during your discovery trip through Germany’s blossoming and green spring garden. After having completed the question sheet, your children may hand it to the Bergsträßer Winzer eG, where a little surprise awaits them.
Please feel invited to visit wine seminars, guided tours and wine-tastings, which alternate monthly, dealing with selected topics of the educational trail or participate in a guided hiking tour "Geo & Genuss" – "Geo and Indulgence" under the special guidance of our Geopark-Rangers.
