Kurpfalz – Electoral Palatinate

The Kurpfalz – Electoral Palatinate is one of Germany's most manifold regions. Whether the "Deutsche Weinstrasse" – "German Wine Route" with the nearby Pfälzer Wald – Palatinate Forest, the "blossoming Bergstrasse region" in the foothills of the Odenwald, the legendary Nibelungen-Siegfried-Road or a boat cruise on the Neckar River from the romantic town of Heidelberg to the often praised Neckar Valley; the Electoral Palatinate’s richness is infinite. Of course, there are many reasons for loving the Electoral Palatinate and one does not have to search for a long time in order to find them. To travel does not only mean to pack one’s suitcase and to go from one town to another. During a holiday trip, during which, according to a saying, "one can experience a lot", it is very important to get to know the country and its people, as well as the traditions and characteristics, history and presence and all the little things unknown to us to which one may look forward to. Pausing where one likes it and visiting a small inn, which is surrounded by grape-vines, sitting at a big table with others and discussing everything and anything, opening doors and porches of churches and monasteries, entering into and getting to know another world – can be considered a valuable enrichment. In the middle of the 18th century, the Electoral Palatinate experienced new flourishing through Elector Carl Theodor. Today, we would like to invite you to a trip across the border triangle Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg.
Look back into the history, hike or cycle through the Palatinate Forest and the forest of the Odenwald, experience world heritage sites and accept the invitation to colourful markets, wine and music fests and many other cultural events. Stroll through picturesque narrow lanes and enjoy the happiness of the moment. Come to the country, where the lemons blossom – in the truest sense of the word.
